PROgress Immersive Program
PROgress Immersive Program: for Sites and Organisations
Introduction
As Australia’s clinical trials sector continues to expand, the demand for capable, job-ready professionals is growing rapidly. The PROgress Immersive Program offers a practical, low-risk solution for organisations seeking to build internal capability while contributing to workforce development. By hosting a PROgress participant, your site supports real-world learning while gaining an enthusiastic, partially trained team member from day one.
Program Overview
The PROgress Immersive Program is a structured 3-month placement that connects sites with emerging clinical trials professionals – either recent health science graduates or experienced career-switchers. PRAXIS provides foundation training, while your site offers hands-on exposure and mentorship. Participants attend site 3 – 5 days per week (0.6 –1.0 FTE), guided by an internal mentor, and complete aligned training alongside their placement.

FAQs
What is the participant onboarding process?
- PRAXIS will recruit program participants providing sites with an opportunity to review the application documentation. You will have an opportunity to interview the selected candidates. Sites will onboard participants as casual staff per their usual process (further details below).
- Participants will complete a series of online modules prior to commencing at site and continue with ongoing education throughout their time at the site. Training inclusions and requirements are outlined in the site program documentation. You can request this from Nikita@praxisaustralia.com.au.
What is the payment structure for the program?
- There are no costs for the site to PRAXIS for the training elements of the program. There are significant benefits to your team from hosting, including leadership training for your senior staff.
- Participants pay a training fee to participate in the program. This ensures that participants are highly invested in the success of the experience, making it unique from other placement types.
- Participants are engaged directly by the site under a casual CTA level contract, with wages paid by the site only for the days on site. This is the best way to ensure students can actively participate in work activities (being added to delegation logs to complete study tasks, covered by site insurance).
- There is no payment to the site for hosting a participant.
Do we have to offer a permanent position once the internship has finished?
- No. There is no obligation to offer the participants a permanent role at the conclusion of the program. While it is a great opportunity to onboard a potential staff member in supported format, achievement of the program goals includes the participants being able to approach new job opportunities with some sector experience.
